The JISC is composed of many nationwide committees and plays a vital role in standardizing activities across Japan.
Japan has strict standards for harmful chemical content of indoor building materials. JIS F☆☆☆☆ designation is applicable to materials having the lowest rate of formaldehyde emission including a specific range wood products.
